Crisis Committee

1. Munich Olympics Hostage Crisis (1972)
2. Rwandan Genocide (1994)

The crisis committee will hold 2 topics, with delegates switching their delegation for the second topic. This means that delegates will be able to have 2 different full Crisis experiences in one conference.

Hi everyone!
My name is Jasmine, and I’m a senior at SAS Puxi. Interestingly, SUZMUN XIII was my first Crisis Committee, SUZMUN XIV is my last Crisis and final MUN conference. I feel extremely honored end my MUN journey here.

This year at SUZMUN, the committee will navigate the topic of the Rwandan Genocide, a tragic ethnic conflict that erupted in 1994, giving delegates a dynamic setting to examine prevention, international responsibility, and post-conflict recovery in a wider African context.

As president, I will do my best to support delegates, ensuring a friendly, competitive environment and smooth communication with the backroom.

The Crisis Committee is definitely challenging, but I promise you'll gain tremendously after it. You’ll make friends too.
Keep in mind that crisis = chaos, so go all out, be bold, and don't be afraid to be wrong—this is your time.
See y'all at SSIS SZ!
Greetings, fellow delegates of Crisis for SUZMUN XIV!

My name is Victor Kubler, and it is my honour to serve as your deputy president. I am currently in Year 11 at the French School of Shanghai Yangpu. I have previously attended twelve MUN conferences, five of which as a student officer and one as a secretary general.

I will be specialising in the Munich Olympics Hostage Crisis, which addresses a known incident in the 1972 Summer Olympics in which 11 Israeli athletes were taken hostage by terrorists. This will require critical thinking from all delegates to ensure the safety and stability of the athletes and the Olympics.

Finally, this will be my second time chairing a crisis committee; therefore, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to make use of the experience and knowledge I gained at WLMUN XIX by contacting me via: [email protected]
