​Hey, all! My name is Max Kim and I will be serving as the Deputy Chair of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) at the 2025 SUZMUN XIII conference. I am currently in G11 attending Suzhou Singapore International School (SSIS), and this is my 6th MUN conference and 2nd time chairing. My topic of focus will be "Tackling the lack of safe and affordable housing in North America and Europe." As we face ongoing housing crises in many parts of the world, it is crucial that we explore sustainable solutions to ensure safe living spaces for all. The issue requires not only political action but also the collaboration of diverse sectors to drive long-term change. I’m excited to meet all of you at the conference and look forward to our discussions!

Hello delegates and guests! My name is Sophia Kong, and I am honored to serve as the President of the Economic and Social Council for this conference. I am a senior at Dulwich College Suzhou, and this will be my 15th and likely final high school MUN conference. For this conference, I will focus on the critical issue of “Mitigating the effects of aging populations in East Asia”. The rapid aging of populations has become a significant economic concern, leading to a shrinking workforce and increasing financial strain on social welfare systems. Rising living costs worldwide have further discouraged people from having children, exacerbating the issue. While the UN and individual governments have implemented various policies to address this challenge, their impact has been limited. I encourage all delegates to actively engage in discussions, present well-researched solutions, and contribute to meaningful debate. Please come prepared, and do not hesitate to reach out if you need any help. Looking forward to seeing you all in April!

Hi, delegates of the ECOSOC committee! My name is Kyle Wei, and I am a sophomore from Shanghai American School. I will be your Deputy President for the upcoming meeting. I first started participating in MUN in 6th grade and have attended over 10 conferences since then. The topic I will be focusing on for this conference is “Addressing the Dangers Faced by Commercial Ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.” As an issue that has been present for decades, the lack of security for commercial ships in these waters has greatly affected global trade and the lives of many individuals. This makes it an important international concern that is crucial to address, and I am honored to have the opportunity to watch delegates debate on this vital issue. That said, I look forward to participating in SUZMUN XIII and witnessing the innovative solutions that will emerge.
