Greetings delegates!

My name is Jacob Bu, currently a sophomore attending the SMIC Private School International Division. SUZMUN XIV marks my 8th Model United Nations conference, and my third time serving as a chair. Personally, my most valuable gains from every conference are the people I meet and the memories we collectively create. These ringing experiences remind me of the true values of Model United Nations that go far beyond debate alone.

I am honored to lead the discussion on “Addressing the mental health crisis among refugees in post-conflict zones”, a threatening byproduct of displaced people.

Although food, shelter and physical safety are emphasized in post-conflict zones, psychological health is often undermined. Untreated mental health conditions burdens refugees’ ability to reintegrate into new communities. I am looking forward to navigate and heed each delegate’s unique models and mechanisms contributing to humanitarian aid.

Hello everyone!
 
My name is Elaine Lu, and I am currently a senior at Hangzhou International School. It’s my honor to serve as your President of the World Health Assembly at SUZMUN XIV. I began my MUN journey in Grade 6 and have since participated in almost 20 conferences, both as a delegate and as a chair.
 
My topic focuses on the global rise of non-communicable diseases in LEDCs. A major public health and development problem largely driven by limited healthcare capacity and socioeconomic inequality, with contribution from increasing exposure to lifestyle-related risk factors.

Greetings delegates, my name is Aila Adams, and I am currently a sophomore. This will be my 5th time attending as a chair, and it is an honor to be serving as your Deputy President for WHA. In this committee, I will be focusing on the discussion of developing measures to reduce maternal and child mortality in India, which highlights the importance of access to healthcare, education and proper infrastructures. I encourage delegates to think beyond statistics and consider the social, economic, and cultural factors that influence health outcomes in this context. Strong solutions concerning this should be realistic, inclusive, tailored to India’s regional diversity. My advice to delegates is to speak up, stay engaged, and remember that collaboration often leads to the strongest impacts. I look forward to seeing everyone at the conference! ​
