Alexander Zhou (SAS PX)PresidentDear all,
Greetings. I am Alexander Zhou, a Junior at Shanghai American School Puxi Campus. Having spent three years of my childhood in Suzhou, I hope that SUZMUN XII will be an enjoyable and enriching experience for all. Misunderstandings and miscommunication can have far-reaching consequences, especially in the realm of diplomacy where the stakes are high. A simple misinterpretation or a poorly worded statement can lead to strained relations between nations and even escalate into full-blown conflicts. Unfortunately, the Dominican Republic-Haiti canal dispute is such an example of our failings in conflict resolution. Only by recognizing and addressing potential communication barriers with genuine discourse and respect for each other’s interest can substantial progress be made towards the resolution of conflicts, one step at a time. That said, I am more than excited for the upcoming debates in the Security Council, and see you all in May. |
Peter Eugen Blumenschein (SSIS)Deputy presidentHey, all. My name is Peter Blumenschein and I will be serving as the Vice President of the Security Council at the 2024 SUZMUN XII conference. In a world where every week, a new crisis emerges, international cooperation is becoming ever-increasingly vital to global stability, peace and economic prosperity.
