Deputy President

My name is Jessica Kim and it is my honor to serve as the Deputy President of the World Health Assembly for SUZMUN XII. I am currently a sophomore at Suzhou Singapore International School (SSIS), and my topic of focus will be “ensuring equitable access to nutritious food and eradicating hunger in low- and middle-income countries”. Addressing this critical issue is paramount in achieving global health equity, and in a world where millions still suffer from malnutrition and food insecurity, our collective efforts are crucial to building a healthier, more equitable future for all. 

As my MUN journey only began this year, I am extremely aware of how intimidating MUN conferences seem to beginner delegates and those who aren’t familiar with them. Therefore, I will do my very best as a chair to create an enjoyable conference and ensure that every delegate departs SUZMUN with valuable memories.

​My name is Kelly Lee and I am currently a junior at SASPX - it is my utmost honor to be serving as the President of the World Health Assembly this year. I have been participating in MUN for the past 6 years - this year's SUZMUN will be my 16th conference. For SUZMUN XII, I will be focusing on the question of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and over-prescription of antibiotics. An issue that affects all countries and regions, AMR is an increasing issue that challenges many gains of modern medicine, causing the world to face antibiotics pipeline and access crisis. Every conference is a great opportunity - take the time to research in depth, understand more about the world we live in, and interact with others that may have similar interests with you. My name is Rosie Lee, a sophomore attending Cheongna Dalton School located in South Korea. I am honoured to be a member of the SUZMUN XII student officer team as the deputy president for the World Health Assembly. For this year’s SUZMUN XII, I will be targeting ‘Advancing coordination for health emergency preparedness and response in light of the COVID-19 pandemic’. A growing global issue that affects all parts of the world, health emergencies have been increasing through time, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. To target such challenges, the World Health Assembly will focus on the key elements of effective emergency responses during the conference. As the deputy president, I highly suggest that the delegates challenge  themselves to research about the given topics thoroughly before the conference, and participate actively. I hope this MUN conference will be both meaningful and memorable for everyone. Thank you!
